Lies from the Governing Body
Last night JW's around the world celebrated the memorial. They passed unleavened bread and red wine around the congregation to symbolise the flesh and blood of Jesus. For most people the ceremony involves just passing the plate and glass to their neighbour however any that claim to have the 'heavenly hope' of being in the 144, 000 will take a bite of the bread and a sip of the wine.
It's ironic that the religion requires its adherents to die rather than accept a life-saving blood transfusion yet they are happy to drink 'symbolic' blood.
In recent months the religion and particularly the Governing Body have been less than honest about what they teach and how they treat former members. The deceit of elders from the Australian Branch Office, as they tried to prevent Geoffrey Jacksons (Governing Body Member) from having to appear before the Australian Royal Commission, was beautifully exposed by Mr Angus Stewart; Senior Council of the Commission.
Following the exposure of their deceit the Royal Commission forced Jackson to answer questions and during that questioning he demonstrated similar lies and misdirection. In fact his go to line, when asked a question he didn't want to answer, was:... 'it is not my field'. Remember this is a member of the Governing Body - one of the 7 men who control every aspect of the religion.
In recent months there have been many blogs and YouTube videos that have highlighted the lies and misdirections of the Governing Body so I am not going to rehash them all again. However the question has to be; if these men believe that they really have the truth, why are they so ashamed of it?
Why not just admit that hitting children is acceptable? Why not openly acknowledge that they believe they are the only religion that is acceptable to God? Why don't they tell the truth and admit that if a member of their religion decides to leave that they will be forever disowned by all their Witness friends and family unless they step back in line with the Governing Body? Why not tell the world that they believe there is not a problem with child abuse in the organisation? Because that is what they are telling the congregations! They claim that it is all Satanic propaganda.
All ex-Witnesses and current Witnesses fully understand the Governing Bodies stand on all of the above questions. Corporal punishment of children is ENCOURAGED. The Governing Body have claimed time after time that THEY ARE directed by God and Holy Spirit. Anyone that leaves the religion voluntarily is viewed as APOSTATE and is expected to be shunned. Any Witness that openly admits that child abuse is rife in the religion and the protection of children is woefully inadequate will be viewed as DISLOYAL.
Yet in the public arena the Governing Body try to mislead the general public on all of these issues, often denying the very council they have given to the congregations, trying to make themselves look reasonable, even all inclusive.
They clearly know that their beliefs and actions are wrong (because they are embarrassed by the questions asked in public) but they can't admit it because to do so would destroy the faith of many in their congregations. There would be no chance of using the 'light is getting brighter' excuse to get them out of trouble if they openly admitted that they had got it wrong on so many counts. Their only recourse is to continue with the lies and misdirection.
Yesterday, as the Governing Body members supped the 'symbolic blood of Christ', how many of them would have questioned the slippery comments, misdirections and outright lies they have told over the last twelve months? If they really, truly believed in God, Christ and Armageddon, would the wine glass not have shook in their hands?
Peter apparently denied Jesus three times. How many times have the Governing body publicly denied the teachings they claim come from Jehovah? They make a big deal about Witnesses who have defended their faith to the death in Nazi Germany, during Pol Pots regime and throughout the civil war in Rwanda. So why don't the Governing Body show the same faith and loyalty when questioned by a civilised investigation in a modern, first world country where their lives are not at stake?
Seemingly reputation is more important than faith.
