The crutch we call religion

Every religion says the same things in different ways.  Every one of them asks for Gods help, His blessing, His confirmation that they are just and righteous in their actions because their enemies side with the Devil.  The problem is their enemies are asking God the same questions and favours.  Muslims plead with Allah to give them victory over the infidel Westerners while the Americans hold their hand to their hearts and declare that they are the greatest nation on earth and God is with them.  So who is God with?  The F16's that destroy both warlords and innocents or the so called terrorists that exact their vengeance by killing innocent 'infidels'?  In the end aren't they both terrorists?  How can God side with anyone who deliberately murders his children?  Of course, it isn't just the Americans or the Muslims.  Here in Britain, our ancestors are guilty of atrocities that beggar belief, all in the name of Christianity.  In fact no nation is free from crimes against humanity in the name of God, to some degree or other.  Take Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmars de facto leader, a former Nobel peace prize winner and now a woman who is accused of enabling the rape, torture and murder of Rohingya Muslims.
At what point do we all realise that God is with no-one?  He doesn't save anybody, He doesn't help anyone, He doesn't care for us - because He isn't there.  He doesn't exist.  He is a figment of the imagination of the mentally challenged.
Allah, Jehovah, God DOES NOT EXIST - whatever your term for God, it is a crutch originally dreamed up by the uneducated to conquer their fears and explain things that we now understand as well as some that we don't but eventually we will.  Thunder is not Gods anger.  HIV is not Gods punishment.  The rainbow is not Gods promise never to flood the world again (it's refraction and dispersion of sunlight).
The Governing Body of Jehovahs Witnesses claim they are different to all other religions because they have Gods blessing and knowledge.  They are no different to any other religion for that very reason.  They have no humility, no view of the world that doesn't involve them being front and centre.
We are all part of a universe of cells and right at this moment in time you and I have a collection of those cells which are united and conscious.  While we are in this state we can do things that are positive or negative, however that state will not last.  At some point we will return to an unconscious state again.  There isn't any heaven or paradise, they are concepts made up to make us feel worthy and needy.  So the choices are simple - make the most of here and now or waste it in the belief that there is something better down the line.
Religion is the worst of mans creations because it enslaves its adherents to a life of narrow-minded worship of non-existant entities whom, even if they existed, would have no regard for pitiful, repetitive fawning.
Religious leaders would have us believe that a lack of faith gives us nothing to hope for, no future to strive towards.  They argue that hope give us a moral compass, a reason to act well towards our fellow man.  The implication of this argument is that without faith we have no reason to act morally.
However, a distinct advantage of not being controlled by religion is the free will we are afforded.  The ability to create our own moral compass, the ability to decide for ourselves what is right and wrong.
Religions dictate their version of morality and demand their members abdicate personal responsibility in favor of this biased prescription.  As a direct result some Muslims resort to murder and terror, child abuse has been hidden for years by Jehovahs Witnesses and other religions, Catholics and Protestants killed each other for years in Northern Ireland and religion has been at the heart of many wars around the world for centuries.
In all of these examples, if individuals had used their own moral compass they would have viewed war, murder, terror and child abuse as wrong.  Life is precious, we get to experience it just once before we become part of the ether again.  Why is religion allowed to ruin it for so many people when their beliefs are baseless at best?
