JW's are Losing the Battle for your Mind!

The July 2017 Watchtower has an article entitled;   Winning the Battle for Your Mind

Once again the Governing Body are attempting to convince their congregations that Satan is behind the criticism of the organisation by, amongst others, the Australian Royal Commission and the British Charities Commission.

They are claiming that it is all propaganda as you will see from this extract from the magazine;

What is propaganda? In this context, it is the use of biased or misleading information to manipulate the way people think and act. Some equate propaganda with “lies, distortion, deceit, manipulation, mind control, [and] psychological warfare” and associate it with “unethical, harmful, and unfair tactics.”—Propaganda and Persuasion.

How dangerous is propaganda? It is insidious—like an invisible, odorless, poisonous gas—and it seeps into our consciousness. Because we may not see propaganda for what it is, behavior specialist Vance Packard observed: “Many of us are being influenced and manipulated—far more than we realize.”

Notice how they claim that propaganda is 'biased or misleading information to manipulate the way people think and act'.  Are you aware of any religion that uses biased or misleading information more than Jehovahs Witnesses?  Simply checking the quotations the GB use in their 'Creation' book reveals the extent to which they are prepared to mislead and even lie.  There are 8 million people in their religion who are being influenced and manipulated by the propaganda of seven misogynistic, homophobic old men.

Further on in the article I came across the following;

... propagandists attempt to break bonds of confidence and trust between a soldier and his commander. They may use such propaganda as: “You cannot trust your leaders!” and “Do not let them lead you into disaster!” To add weight to these attacks, they may cleverly exploit any mistakes those leaders might make. Satan does this. He never gives up trying to undermine your confidence in the leadership that Jehovah has provided.

Your defense? Be determined to stick to Jehovah’s organization and loyally support the leadership he provides—no matter what imperfections may surface.  Do not be “quickly shaken from your reason” when faced with what appear to be damaging attacks by apostates or other such deceivers of the mind—however plausible their charges may seem....  Surely there is ample evidence to show that you can trust the channel that Jehovah has used for nearly a hundred years now to lead us in the way of the truth.

Here the Governing Body are openly admitting that they have made mistakes (without any apology) and make the claim that Satan is exploiting those mistakes.  Would you describe decades of covering up child abuse a 'mistake' or complete incompetence?  It isn't Satan highlighting this stupidity it is us, ex-Witnesses, and even Governmental departments, who are pointing to the fact that the Governing Body cannot be trusted, despite their protestations.  This isn't an attempt to undermine confidence in the JW leadership - they have proved more than capable of doing that themselves!

In the second paragraph they once again try to deflect the 'damaging attacks' and 'plausible charges' by using terms like 'Apostates' and 'Deceivers'.  Derogatory insults do not alter the facts about protecting child abusers, nor does it alter the fact that they were associate members of the UN and that they deal in military associated stocks and shares.

Who were the 'deceivers' that enabled thousands of children to be abused in secret?  Who denied those same children professional counselling and even made them relive their abuse by forcing them to confront the person they accused of perpetrating the crimes, in a Kingdom Hall in front of untrained and biased elders?  It was the Governing Body.

The final sentence claims; Surely there is ample evidence to show that you can trust the channel that Jehovah has used for nearly a hundred years now to lead us in the way of the truth.

Really? What evidence?  In the last one hundred years 'the way of truth' has changed so much it is unrecognisable.  There isn't any evidence that they can be trusted and much that shows they cannot. Despite decades of claiming direction from God, through Holy Spirit, they are now claiming that they are not inspired at all so how can they even suggest that they are worthy leaders?

What their article highlights, more than anything, is that they are losing the battle for minds.  Their incompetence and dishonesty are catching up with them and their only defence is to demand their followers obey them regardless.  Is it any wonder that their growth has come to a shuddering stop?
