7 Old Men and a Big Pot of Cash

These are the seven men that currently run Jehovahs Witnesses;

  • Samuel F. Herd
  • Geoffrey Jackson
  • Mark Stephen Lett
  • Gerrit Lösch
  • Anthony Morris III
  • Mark Sanderson
  • David H. Splane
These seven men control an organisation of 8 million people worldwide.  There are no women on this board of directors and there is a solitary black man. Would it be cynical to suggest that he is in place to appease the large percentage of black Witnesses?  The remaining six are old white men.

It is claimed that God, by means of Holy Spirit, directs the Organisation through these men.  A claim that begs the question;

If God is directing a worldwide organisation why would he choose a board of old, predominantly white and predominantly American, English speaking men to represent a religion of which more than half the members are women and a very large proportion are either black, Asian and / or Spanish speaking?

The current board can hardly be described as representative of the people they lead.

There is an old saying that goes; Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Keep that saying in mind when you read the following instructions issued by these seven men to their 8 million followers:

JW.ORG Who Is Leading God’s People Today?

12 The Governing Body is neither inspired nor perfect. It can make mistakes when explaining the Bible or directing the organization... Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food.

So they are 'neither inspired nor perfect' which explains why they appoint their mates on to the board and not a proper representation of their organisation.

March 2014 - Letter to all congregations

... the Governing Body has directed that an adjustment be made in the way Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction projects are financed. In harmony with the principle at 2 Corinthians 8:12-14, congregations will now be asked to pool their resources worldwide to support the construction of theocratic facilities wherever they are needed.

Now this group of seven old men, who have already admitted that there isn't any perfect Holy Spirit guiding their hand, are now requiring that the 114,000 congregations around the world send the vast majority of their donations to a central fund which is controlled by...the seven old men.

Watchtower 15.11.13 Seven Shepherds, Eight Dukes - What Do They Mean For Us?

... the life-saving direction that we receive from Jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.

Here the seven old men, who have admitted they are not inspired or perfect, are telling the 8 million members that they might (will) issue directions that don't seem right from a 'human standpoint' (for instance sending them all the cash and promoting their peers to the board) however they must all be ready to obey regardless!

Interestingly this article says that they receive life-saving direction from Jehovah, is this not the perfect inspiration that they denied receiving in the first quote?

It seems that Messers Jackson, Lett and their fellow cronies are making it up as they go along and the money keeps rolling in without a (traitorous) challenge from anyone.
