A Governing Body of Incompetent Men





In recent months the Governing Body of Jehovahs Witnesses have persistently made claims to their followers that no other organisation does more to protect their children and that media claims that they covered up child abuse within the congregations are 'utterly ludicrous'.

If these claims are true why are so many historic child abuse cases within the religion now coming to light?  Cases where the elders disciplined the offender but did nothing to prevent them abusing again.

Why are the Organisation fighting legal battles in the UK and the USA to prevent their documentary evidence of these crimes from being passed to relevant authorities?  

A UK Charities Commission spokesperson described the legal battle by the WTBTS to block a Charity Commission inquiry into how Jehovah’s Witnesses (a registered charity) handles allegations of abuse; "The extent of the charity’s challenges and the length of time they have gone on for are unprecedented in recent times."

Fay Maxted, chief executive of the Survivors Trust said: “It’s deeply disappointing that a faith-based organisation appears to be so determined to try and avoid answering questions about its own behaviour …"

Why did Governing Body member Gerrit Losch refuse to take the stand in a US court to defend the child protection policies of the WTBTS?

Why did the Australian branch office try to claim that Geoffrey Jackson, a prominent Governing Body member, had no involvement in the formulation or revision of the policies under discussion at the 2015 Royal Commission Hearings into child sex abuse?

Why have the Governing Body recently changed their policies on handling child abuse allegations following the widely publicised TV coverage of the Australian Royal Commission Hearings?  If the claims by the media are 'utterly ludicrous' why did they feel the need to change the instructions to the elders? 

Stephen Lett and his six cronies on the Governing Body shamelessly use their on-line TV station, their heavily marketed website and their enormous printing facilities to make claims as to their innocence but actions are far louder than words.

They pass all the accusations off as Satan's propaganda and of course the majority of brainwashed JW's will believe every word.  Yet more and more evidence is coming to light of child abusers that were known to elders and the branch offices, yet they abused again and again because of the incompetent policies of Mr Losch, Mr Jackson, Mr Lett and their colleagues.  

Innocent people have nothing to hide.  Innocent people have no fear of defending their policies. Innocent people don't lie and mis-lead to avoid questioning by appointed authorities. 

However these men are not innocent and to compound their indefensible position they refuse to even acknowledge the part they have played in the devastation of thousands of lives.

In a final irony they have even used charitable donations to fund legal battles with the UK Charities Commission to try to prevent them from investigating the WTBTS handling of child abuse allegations within its congregations!

The Governing Body of Jehovahs Witnesses should be ashamed of themselves - but of course, they are not.  They are shameless men who talk humility and love yet display arrogance and antipathy to the victims of their ineptitude.

Aerosmith and Us

I've recently joined an ex-JW Facebook group and some of the people who contribute to it have made me realise just what a journey it is leaving the Organisation.  As you read their experiences and their (often) open-hearted pleas I am constantly reminded that all of them, in some way or another, are echoing my own feelings and experiences. There is a lyric in the wonderful Aerosmith song 'Amazing' that says; Life's a journey not a destination .  It is a sentiment that until recently I never truly understood but now I realise that leaving a religion that has controlled and manipulated you for a lifetime is a journey that never really ends but it can be incredibly rewarding and fulfilling if you allow it to be. What's the point of the Memorial?

It's memorial season again and most of us will get an invite.  To JW's it is viewed as the most important meeting of the year and effectively it is the only celebration that they actively encourage. Witnesses view the memorial as a celebration and as kids growing up in the 'truth' we were taught the significance of the emblems and the importance of the ransom sacrifice.  However, from being a youngster, I have always questioned the whole concept of both the memorial and (apostasy alert) more to the point, the reasoning behind Jesus ransom sacrifice.  Here is the basic premise of the memorial;  It's a formal ceremony that acknowledges the sacrifice of a perfect man, Jesus.
