The Governing Body are keen to warn all Witnesses to avoid any questions from non-Witnesses that begin with the line; Is it really so?
They maintain that these type of questions are designed to undermine faith rather than build up strong confidence in Jehovah and his organisation. The party line is that these 'sly and undermining questions' are one of Satan's tactics as he tries to draw people away from the 'Truth'
I have to agree with them. Yes, there is at least one thing that JW's and I agree upon!
You probably know people who love to cause trouble by malicious gossip and insinuation, I certainly do and as I surf the internet I get annoyed that so many ex-Witnesses and JW detractors use this method to attack the Society.
What is the point of playing straight into their hands when there is so much hard evidence that can be used against them? What I'm saying is the Governing Body keep warning the congregations about questions that undermine and so every Witness is on their guard against them. But their isn't any defence against TRUTH.

Most of the websites and blogs that I've read that use this tactic seem to be trying to 'convert' the reader to an alternative faith. My opinion is that jumping from one religion to another is like jumping from one hot pan to another but, as one very wise person said recently, opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one!
As I trawled through some of those sites I began to question why I write these blogs - what do I hope to achieve by writing them?
The answer might surprise you - my aim is not to entice Witnesses away from their beliefs, nor is it to put prospective converts off joining them. Everybody has to make up their own minds when it comes to faith (or the lack of it).
So why this blog then? Because someone with real knowledge of what goes on within the organisation needs to hold them to account for the damage they cause. Someone has to debunk the myths they perpetuate and shine a light on what their 'sound bites' really mean. In short, someone has to provide ALL the facts, not just the ones that paint a positive light.
The Society can bleat as much as they like about people like me criticising them, claiming it as Satanic attacks by apostates and other such name calling. I am sure they would prefer to cover up their little secrets without anyone making them public just as much as they wish the whole child abuse scandal would just disappear. However that is not going to happen.
They can look forward to the 'New Order' when everyone who disagrees with them has been murdered but for now I and many more like me will continue to highlight the difference between the image the Society portray of themselves as a loving, righteous and honest organisation - and the reality.
