Jehovahs Witnesses

We are told that we are made in Gods image.  He is described as being male, all powerful, perfect and, dependant on which bible verses are being quoted, He is attributed qualities as diverse as love and jealousy.  It is claimed that His justice is perfect and that He cannot lie. All Christian religions accept the bibles portrayal of the Almighty Creator without any question, in fact without any logical analysis of the claims.  So who is God and what is he really like? Firstly the Bible clearly indicates that He is the ultimate being and He requires all creation to acknowledge that fact.  Here is the first contradiction.  If God is all powerful why would He care about recognition of that position?  He is all powerful, He is the ultimate, recognition or the lack of it has no bearing whatsoever on the fact .  A billion people insisting that red is in fact green doesn't alter the fact that red is red.  So why do the bible writers insist...

This will be my last blog as Rydler.  (sorry in the end this didn't become my last post as I found a new source of inspiration.)  I will leave you with a few last thought provoking comments on the Governing Body and Jehovahs Witnesses. Lots of JW's who have read my blogs have commented that us 'apostates' are negative and are motivated by destroying faith.  I should, according to many of them, keep my views to myself. There are a couple of comments I would make here to defend my views.  Firstly, Jehovahs Witnesses are renown for NOT keeping their views to themselves.  In fact it is a badge of honour for them to promote the views of their organisation.  Could I politely ask why they should be allowed to actively and aggressively push their beliefs upon billions but those who have a different viewpoint should keep quiet? In my years attending the Kingdom Hall I experienced many funny moments.  One brother who was having a difficult time in his marriage inadvertently opened a prayer with the immortal words; Our dear Heavenly Barbara! Another elder used an octopus as an illustration throughout his talk and frequently referred to it’s eight testicles. The most cringeworthy moment came from an old Ministerial Servant who was asked to make the announcements during a Thursday meeting.  After stumbling through a letter from the Society his frustration boiled over and he uttered the word sh*t, both loudly and clearly, however instantly realising his dire error, he attempted to cover the expletives by a sudden and violent coughing fit. Jehovahs Witnesses have recently discovered the internet and now they are exploiting it to extract money from their congregation members in the way TV evangelists have been doing for years.  They have released articles asking their devotees to give cash, valuables, pensions, life insurance, stocks, shares and even pocket money from the children.  Recently they wrote to all the congregations releasing those that had debt with the society from it but, what they give with one hand, they well and truly took back with the other.  They have asked every congregation to make a monthly donation to a central fund for the society, recommending that each Kingdom Hall keeps three months running costs plus the equivalent of $5000 for unexpected expenses and send the rest to the Governing Body. The Governing Body claim that God gives us free will.  But that 'free will' in the end is, if you accept their beliefs, is the choice between serving God by becoming a JW or death.  It hardly seems to be 'free will' in any normal understanding of freedom.  On the JW.ORG website under the editorial;  Bad Things Happen to Good People—Why? t hey write; If God coerced people into following a certain course, would he not be nullifying the gift of free will? Why, humans would be reduced to nothing more than machines, doing exactly what they were programmed to do! The same would be true if fate, or Kismet, dictated what we do and everything that happens to us. I remember a time not so long ago when I loathed people like me.  I thought that everyone that wrote blogs like this or used YouTube to launch 'attacks' on my religion were doing it solely to undermine my faith. The Governing Body states that it uses women (alongside men) to teach outside of the congregation but men only to teach within the congregation, pointing to Paul's words at 1 Timothy 2:12, 13 (NWT); "I do not permit a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence. Kingdom Ministry 2013: “I’ll Take Your Literature if You Take Mine” That is the proposition of some householders. Since we do not exchange our Bible study aids for religious literature that disseminates error, how might we answer tactfully?... How does a Jehovahs Witness know if the literature they are being offered disseminates error?  After all in my last blog I supplied a web link showing Governing Body member Geoffrey Jackson  claiming that it would be 'quite presumptuous' to state that Jehovahs Witnesses are the only spokesmen on earth approved by God.   This indicates that the Governing Body or at least one member of it believes there is a possibility that there are others besides Witnesses who are being directed by God.  How do they know that the literature they are being offered isn't inspired by the Creator using another, alternative religion?  (Or was Brother Jackson being deliberately misleading to the Australian  Royal Comm...

The majority of my blogs highlight the sinister side of The Watchtower, Bible and Tract Society or as they are better known, Jehovah's Witnesses. Today I want to concentrate on a lighter - though still ridiculous - set of rules that the Governing Body impose; How to dress. On each Kingdom Hall notice board is a list of what is and what is not acceptable dress and grooming for a Jehovah's Witness.  I guess the Elders police the policy which will inevitably lead to some embarrassing conversations. My earlier blogs have shown how elders can get away with immorality as long as they keep quiet about it for three years.  They have provided clear, unambiguous evidence, of the Governing Bodys lies and misdirection in their literature.  I have highlighted a time when the Organisation admitted that disfellowshipping was not only unscriptural but even pagan.   There have been blogs showing the Watchtower Bible and Tract Societies membership of the United Nations - the very organisation they claim is the Devils earthly representation.  Others have shown the long line of predictions that the organisation has made for nearly 150 years that have failed to come true.  I have highlighted their extremist views and how many of their beliefs mirror those of the extremist organisation ISIS.  Some posts have shown their intolerance, their obsessive control over their followers and even their manipulation of the state to afford themselves charitable status. Disfellowshipping is one of the most controversial practices of a highly controversial religion.  It involves the removal of an individual from the organisation and the complete shunning of that person by all Jehovahs Witnesses including friends and family - even parents and siblings. What would the Devils choice of religion look like? According to the bible Satan 'craves' worship so logically he would want his followers to talk about him every day, pray to him regularly, expressing gratitude and devotion.  He would never want any challenge to his right to this worship and so he would demand total loyalty with the harshest punishment for any who dared challenge his position.  Of course those punishments would be given against the backdrop that they are necessary to protect all of his other faithful followers from corruption of their beliefs. In my last post I demonstrated how the Governing Body use God as an excuse to discharge their responsibility in dealing with peodophiles within their organisation. Their most obvious problem is their refusal to understand that all the criticism levelled against them by the American legal system, the British legal system, the Australian legal system, the Norwegian legal system etc etc is not an 'apostate attack' which is what they want to believe.  Rather it is serious, reasonable people who want to protect innocent victims from vile predators. It's surprising how often the Governing Body slides responsibility to their God rather than make a decision themselves.  Take a look at this  Watchtower   1996 Mar 15 p.15; "Loyalty to Jehovah God will also keep us from doing anything that would bring reproach upon his name and Kingdom. For example, two Christians once got into such difficulty with each other that they improperly resorted to a worldly law court.
