I Must Be the Devil

I remember a time not so long ago when I loathed people like me.  I thought that everyone that wrote blogs like this or used YouTube to launch 'attacks' on my religion were doing it solely to undermine my faith.

JW.ORG; Not only do they abandon the true faith but they then “beat” their former associates, using public criticism and other methods to hinder their work; the efforts of such apostates are devoted to tearing down, not building up.

They wanted to rob me of my relationship with Jehovah and my chance of everlasting life in paradise.  I believed the Governing Body when they warned that writings like this were apostate lies, without any merit and that they should be avoided at all costs.

The Watchtower  July 2011; How do false teachers operate? Their methods reveal a cunning spirit. Apostates “quietly bring in” corruptive ideas. Like smugglers, they operate in a clandestine manner, subtly introducing apostate views. And just as a clever forger tries to pass phoney documents, so apostates use “counterfeit words,” or false arguments, trying to pass their fabricated views as if they were true. They spread “deceptive teachings,” “twisting . . . the Scriptures” to fit their own ideas. (2 Pet. 2:1, 3, 13; 3:16) Clearly, apostates do not have our best interests at heart. Following them would only divert us from the road that leads to eternal life.

That same article went on to say;  '.. apostates are “mentally diseased,” and they seek to infect others with their disloyal teachings. (1 Tim. 6:3, 4) Jehovah, the Great Physician, tells us to avoid contact with them. We know what he means, but are we determined to heed his warning in all respects?'

I hated the idea that someone wanted to destroy my faith in God and his organisation for no other reason than spite.  The notion that former Witnesses would take the time and effort to try and turn faithful brothers and sisters away from the Faithful and Discreet Slave seemed like the greatest act of betrayal.

And then, one day not too long ago, I woke up.

I didn't read any 'apostate' literature or blogs or YouTube videos or any other type of media 'used' by Satan to sow his wicked seeds.  I wasn't 'subtly' corrupted by someone in the congregation or lead astray by false arguments and deceptive teachings.

One day I discovered that the Watchtower, Bible and Tract Society, the legal entity of the religion I had believed all of my life, were an associate member of the United Nations - an organisation that they publicly revile as the Devils political expression on earth.  This single revelation shook the foundations of everything I had believed.  I remember investigating it, trying to prove it wasn't true - but the information is in the public domain and it is true.

From that moment I never trusted another word the organisation said and I looked much closer at their claims and teachings.  Suddenly and with total clarity I began to see beyond the rhetoric and sound bites to the reality of their teachings.  Now those words of the July 2011 Watchtower took on a meaning that made sense;

If you have read my previous blogs you will have seen verifiable examples of their 'counterfeit words', 'false arguments' and deceptive teachings.  As an example look at my blog entitled;

Nowadays the WBTS have put such a fear into the rank and file Witnesses, they won't even watch footage of their own Governing Body member being quizzed by the Australian High Commission, just in case the questions damage their faith!

So why do people like me put this information out into the public domain?  Are we simply trying to 'tear down' rather than 'build up?'

I can't speak for everyone but I hate the fact that this self-serving, self-important organisation has destroyed my family for its own ends.  It is deceiving people and extracting huge sums of money from them.  It promises far, far more than it could ever deliver.

For me not speaking is not an option.  Life is now - not in some vague future.  If you are a Witness or if you were thinking of becoming one;  grab life now - while you really have it!
