JW's Fight the Law

Some recent press articles regarding JW's reveal the extent to which the organisation is misleading the authorities and fighting hard to keep their dirty secrets well hidden.

The Hartlepool Mail 15th Aug 2016 - Campaigners 'grave concerns' over new directives for Jehovahs Witnesses ;

A spokesman for the Jehovahs Witnesses said it did not comment on leaked documents but said; "As we have said before the protection of children is so important and we are constantly trying to improve ways in which we can safe guard our children."

Constantly trying to improve ways in which we can safeguard our children?  And where can we find even the slightest shred of evidence of this never-ending improvement?  Is it by being open and honest about the completely inadequate safeguarding of children in the past which has lead to wide scale sexual abuse?

According to the next article apparently not;

The Guardian 12th Aug 2016 - JW's under pressure over handling of sexual abuse claims

"..the supreme court has rejected a highly unusual attempt by the WTBTS (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society) to block a Charities Commission inquiry into how the Jehovahs Witnesses charity handles allegations of abuse.  The extent of the charities challengers and the length of time they have gone on for are unprecedented in recent times, a spokesman for the Charities Commission said....
...It continues to fight Charity Commission orders to provide documents on sexual abuse allegations, as well as other aspects of the inquiry, in lower courts.

Why are the organisation spending the hard earned contributions from loyal brothers and sisters on pointless attempts to hide the truth from the law and from the Charities Commission?  In what way is that evidence of 'constantly trying to improve ways in which to safeguard children?'

Later in the article;

Fay Maxted, chief executive of the Survivors Trust, a national sexual assault charity, said:  These are cases where someone has been sexually violated....It's deeply disappointing that a faith-based organisation appears to be so determined to try and avoid answering questions about it's own behaviour..."

Once again the organisation drags the name of their God through the mud.  Why?  Is it because they still maintain that this is all just an 'attack by Satan' and the allegations are spurious?  If that is the case why have they bowed to pressure and recently changed their stance on the 'two witness' rule?
If not what are they so desperate to hide?  What is the REAL extent of child abuse within the organisation over the past decades?

and finally from the same article;

"A spokesman for the Jehovahs Witnesses added: Congregation elders do not discourage (reports to the authorities) or shield abusers from the authorities or from the consequences of their actions."

As all of us who are or were Witnesses know, this statement is simply not true.  Reporting a brother to secular authorities is not an option.  Notice the spokesman doesn't say they 'encourage' the reporting of the crime of sexual abuse to the authorities.

They use the same disingenuous statements in regards to walking away from the religion.  According to the Organisation they 'respect the right of a congregation member to leave the organisation' and this is the line fed to the press.  Of course what they don't acknowledge is the pain and anguish they will inflict upon that person as the organisations rules require him or her to be completely shunned by all their Witness friends and family, with the only way to resume those relationships is by once again submitting to the control of the Governing Body.
