Evolution v Creation: 10 nil to Evolution

Today I am continuing to question the JW's booklet: THE ORIGIN OF LIFE, FIVE QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING, but this time, instead of concentrating on the numerous misquotes and deliberate misdirection, I want to highlight just how their arguments are self-defeatist.

Page 7 of this booklet;

What do you think? All scientific evidence to date indicates that life can come only from previously existing life. To believe that even a “simple” living cell arose by chance from nonliving chemicals requires a huge leap of faith.

Is God a simple living life form?  Because JW's believe that the single most powerful being in the universe, Jehovah, did not come from previously existing life.  They believe he has always been and will always be.  Really?  So they don't believe in evolution but they do believe in a being who had no beginning, ever?

Remember that JW's believe mankind has only been on this planet for six thousand years.  Darwin published the 'Origin of Species' in 1859.  Even by Witnesses own scale of mankind's existence,  the 'theory of evolution' has only been debated for 157 years - less than 3% of all human history.  God and Creation however have been perpetuated exclusively for 97% of human history.

So if only Faith is needed to believe that there is an everlasting God with no beginning and no end, why is absolute evidence required of evolution after such a short time period?

Of course evolutionists disagree with each other, so do palaeontologists, biologists and creationists. Everybody wants to carve their place in history alongside Darwin, Wallace etc, etc.  Lets be honest, who doesn't disagree with each other on the subject of religion?

The fact remains that the vast majority of scientists accept that evolution, in whatever guise, is the most likely origin of life.  Quoting the minority of dissenters proves absolutely nothing. However, deliberately misquoting eminent scientists proves that the Governing Body have no real faith in their own theories.

The booklet on page 5 and 6 says;

What about protein molecules? They can be made from as few as 50 or as many as several thousand amino acids bound together in a highly specific order. The average functional protein in a “simple”
cell contains 200 amino acids. Even Professor Shapiro does not believe that life was created. He believes that life arose by chance in some fashion not yet fully understood. In 2009, scientists at the University of Manchester, England, reported making some nucleotides in their lab. However, Shapiro
states that their recipe “definitely does not meet my criteria for a plausible pathway to the RNA world.” STANLEY MILLER, 1953 1 HOW DID LIFE BEGIN? 5 in those cells, there are thousands of different types of proteins. The probability that just one protein containing only 100 amino acids could ever randomly form on earth has been calculated to be about one chance in a million billion.

I always laugh when the Governing Body use 'probability' as a reason why something could not happen.  They quote millions and even billions as though these are massive numbers and therefore disprove something, indeed anything, as impossible.  Consider millions and billions against infinity. Life has all the building blocks in place but more importantly it has endless time.  At some point it was inevitable.   Untold trillions upon trillions of planets in trillions upon trillions of solar systems in an infinity of time with amino acids, and so many of them.  Really, how could life not have occurred by simple biology and an infinite amount of time and opportunity?

In order to explain it clearly imagine a pack of playing cards.  It has fifty two cards divided into four suits.  Now imagine one thousand packs of playing cards being shuffled and dealt between one hundred people.  The probability of all those cards being dealt in the specific order that happened the first time they are dealt is - according to JW's - impossible because the statistical probability is so great. The reality is that, given enough time, the possibility of those cards being dealt in the same order again and again and again over an infinity of time is inevitable.
