The Truth Is...





For years the term 'apostate' was used by the JW's to describe a former member who used lies and deceit to lure other Witnesses away from the organisation.  For decades the Governing Body have been demonising 'apostates' as the worst of the worst.  Ironically they have been far more likely to warn the congregation of the dangers of an individual 'apostate' than they are of a child molestor.

However, if a former Witness uses truth and verifiable facts to expose the wrong within the organisation, can they still be termed 'apostate'?

JW's own bible, the New World Translation, says this at Proverbs 11:9;
By his mouth the apostate brings his neighbour to ruin, But by knowledge the righteous are rescued.

So what is knowledge if it isn't the truth?

The truth is Jehovahs Witnesses were an NGO of the United Nations.


The truth is the Governing Body have deliberately misquoted and mislead readers of their literature.


The truth is the Organisations teachings have lead to the unnecessary deaths of many of their own people and worse still, hundreds of children who weren't even given a choice.

The truth is they have no idea about the '1914 prophesy' and the current 'thought' is highly likely to change again in the future.

The truth is the Governing Body have been more concerned with clinging on to the 'two witness' rule than they have about the safety of the children in the Kingdom Halls, despite the fact that the Bible clearly shows that in some instances the word of the victim alone can be used as evidence to convict.


The truth is the Governing Body have a history of predictions that don't come true despite their insistence that they are directed by PERFECT Holy Spirit.


Even the New World Translations scripture at Proverbs 11:9 that I quoted earlier is a misleading translation. A survey of 15 of the most widely read bible translations revealed that the word 'chaneph', which JW's choose to interpret as 'apostate' is actually translated to be hypocrite in the vast majority and godless, ungodly or profane in the remainder - totally different meanings to the term 'apostate'.  

The Truth will set you free.  There is no need to attack the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society with lies when their own words and deeds reveal them for who they really are.


* Though there has not been any official statistics of JW deaths from refusing blood transfusions the statistics from the American Journal of Medicine indicate that around 900 Witnesses will die each year as a result of their belief that blood is more sacred than life.

Aerosmith and Us

I've recently joined an ex-JW Facebook group and some of the people who contribute to it have made me realise just what a journey it is leaving the Organisation.  As you read their experiences and their (often) open-hearted pleas I am constantly reminded that all of them, in some way or another, are echoing my own feelings and experiences. There is a lyric in the wonderful Aerosmith song 'Amazing' that says; Life's a journey not a destination .  It is a sentiment that until recently I never truly understood but now I realise that leaving a religion that has controlled and manipulated you for a lifetime is a journey that never really ends but it can be incredibly rewarding and fulfilling if you allow it to be. What's the point of the Memorial?

It's memorial season again and most of us will get an invite.  To JW's it is viewed as the most important meeting of the year and effectively it is the only celebration that they actively encourage. Witnesses view the memorial as a celebration and as kids growing up in the 'truth' we were taught the significance of the emblems and the importance of the ransom sacrifice.  However, from being a youngster, I have always questioned the whole concept of both the memorial and (apostasy alert) more to the point, the reasoning behind Jesus ransom sacrifice.  Here is the basic premise of the memorial;  It's a formal ceremony that acknowledges the sacrifice of a perfect man, Jesus.
