The Greatest Joke in Religion
Shepherd the Flock Chapter 5, paragraph 48 reads;
There are rare occasions when it is obvious the baptism was invalid because serious wrong-doing did not cease before baptism, even for a brief period of time. For example, it may be that at the time of baptism, the individual was...a member of a non-neutral organisation, or something similar.
By a non-neutral organisation are they referring to an Organisation that they have declared to be in opposition to their beliefs? Maybe they are referring to a sports betting company that the individual worked for or maybe it's an association with another church. These would seem to be examples of 'serious wrong doing as a member of a non-neutral organisation' which would 'invalidate a persons baptism'.
Or maybe the person was serving in the armed forces or even as a politician - again invalidating their baptism because of serious 'wrong doing' on the grounds of being a member of a 'non-neutral organisation'.
Could there be any position worse than a bookmaker, a church member, a soldier or a politician if you wish to become a Jehovahs Witness?
What about working for the Organisation that Witnesses revile as Satan's political expression on earth? Maybe as a chef, an administrator, a librarian or even a maintenance man for the United Nations. None of these would be acceptable if you wanted to get baptised. You would be seen as working directly for the Devil himself.
So why do the Governing Body think they can get away with being ASSOCIATE MEMBERS of this organisation for TEN YEARS?
Even the book they produce exclusively for congregation elders condemns any individual member of the religion if they belong to a non-neutral organisation and as far as JW's are concerned the United Nations are the single most disgusting non-neutral organisation on the planet. So why aren't every single Governing Body member who were complicit in the act of joining the UN being disfellowshipped for an act of gross disloyalty?
Because there is nothing within the Society to regulate and control the actions and deceptions of the leaders. There is no Ombudsman to investigate concerns, no ethics committee to ensure that the Governing Body are not playing fast and loose with the rules.
Why? Because they will claim that God and the Holy Spirit regulate and control. Really?
Did you ever hear the joke about the young Priest, a Rabbi and a JW elder sitting together in a pub discussing how to divide contributions?
The young Priest asks his older companions if his practice of dividing the weekly contributions equally between him and God is the right way to do it. The elderly Rabbi says it's not a bad way but he prefers to give the notes to God and keep the coins for himself. The Witness elder shakes his head and tells them both the fairest solution is to throw all the contributions into the air and whatever God catches he keeps!
That elders solution to dividing contributions is the equivalent of the Governing Body declaring that they are regulated by God and his holy spirit - what a joke!
